Dead Man Walking.
Guys, I know you liked Owen and all, but I think watching the autopsy is a bit morbid, y'know?
(inside joke/aside: Lola, you're not letting creepy little girls with tarot cards into the club, right? Right??)
I'm flashing on Yellow Submarine - Tip toe... through the meanies..
Oh yes! They come in pairs! Heh. (gods, I need to figure out how to make a prop of that damn thing. Some good detail shots, there...)
Hm, it was in a church full of Weevils. Tell me that ain't significant, dammit.
Aw, dear sweet Tosh. She knew what to say. *sniffles*
Thirty seconds later: *BWAHAHAHAHA* ("I'm going to need that hand back")
(insert: Owen's freakout) Oh. Oh, my. That's, erm... bloody scary, actually. *applause*
Ooh, possessed Owen! Is that a variant in the action figure line?
The montage of Owen out-and-about is scoring a bit high on the Cheeze-o-meter. Oh well, can't be helped.
"No blood. Brilliant." Only Owen would be getting PO'd about post-mortem erectile dysfunction. Actually, only Owen would even be thinking about it...
I have never, in all my born days, seen the police react that quickly to a call for a bar fight. Just sayin'.
Oh yes, Jack, I'm sure you know disgusting. *giggles*
Typical male bonding - admit something and then clout him around the head...
At the car park: *laughs maniacally* Is Owen the king of the Weevils? (Thirty seconds later: more bwuhahahaing...)
"What happens when we turn out to be the monsters? When I do?" I hate to break it to you, Owen, but some folks would argue y'all already are1.
Ianto has been unnervingly silent through all of this - he had nothing to say during the putatative two minutes, and has generally been in the background all through. Simply a case of actor non-availability, or something else? Hmm?
(and then Ianto appears with a field hockey stick. Did he go to St. Trinian's or something?)
Say what you like about Burn Gorman, I still think he's the best actor on the series.
Finally, Gwen had something useful to contribute - helping direct the research. More than just a humane face but, damn, I'd like to see her contribute a bit more - aside from angst, I mean. Again, it's all still an improvement over first season, yes, but...
(adds "characters with leukemia" to list of triggers for maudlin sentimentality)
Aww, a fine melodramatic exit for Owen at the hospital - of sorts, given that I know Burn Gorman's (edit: has apparently, according to rumor) signed a contract for season 3.
If I had one criticism of this eps, it is, as ever,: what happened to the promise of no supernatural BS?
Ooh, the teaser for Day In The Death looks good. Onwards!
1 - desperately reminds me of something one of my darlings said, many years ago - but that's another entry on another journal, long ago and, yeah, that wench is VERY dead.
