Drat.

It pains me to admit it, but I think I'm going to have to skip Chicago TARDIS. It's a matter of cost. I'm planning to drop about three grand on career development in the next six months. Dropping over a thousand dollars for a three-day Whovian jamboree on top of that strikes me as just a bit selfish.

I'm trying to convince myself that if I can find a cheap-enough flight (say $250 or less), if I have a reliable roomie to split accomodation costs with, then maybe I can swing it but, as I just crunched the numbers on a back of an envelope, it's still coming up as costing about $700 (no roomie + $400 flight + costs = $1200). Ow.

And to top it all off, if O'Hare gets socked in by snow - a situation not unheard-of in Chicago in November - I might not make it out there at all. That would be incredibly vexing.

So I think I'll stay home and sew, consoling myself with the fact that Gallifrey will be a mere four months later - and you can bet your bippie I won't let projected costs slow me down for that one! ;)

Well, you can count on the reliable roomate - I *totally* have dibs on you. And we could even bring a third in and go cheaper if you wanted. Can't help you with the rest of it though... Well, I've got relatives near the airport who would most likely would put you up for the night if your flight should go wonky, but I couldn't promise 100%.

Oh, foo... I want you to come. :-(

We'll be in LA. So if you want come down to LA, you know the hotel (see gallifrey) and most of same warm bodies. Just SF instead of Who (though the Doctor is usually present, since he is science fiction after all).
We've taken to driving or taking the train everywhere.
