(no subject)

One last word on Time Lord's and gender and sexuality.

I forget who wrote it, but someone out there on the internet said something along the lines of the following:

Aren't we rather making assumptions? For all we know, he (The Doctor) is laying eggs in his TARDIS.

The notion of an egg-laying Time Lord will make me giggle until the day I die.

Now I'm totally thinking of the old-school TARDIS w/the round cut-out pattern on the walls. Like a beehive honeycomb to store the eggs?

OH GOD THE VISUALS, GET THEM OUT OF MY HEAD.

I admit to not having seen much of New Who but to the best of my knowledge we haven't seen enough naked Doctor to even know what the, ewrr, equipment is like...

Me, I always cheerfully take the view that - unless canonically proven otherwise - Aliens Do It Very (and Terrifyingly) Differently. Course, that does nothing for the het or slash... {eg}

I'm coming late to the discussion, but it's quite thought-provoking.

Years ago, I read The Left Hand of Darkness (Ursula K. LeGuin). About a year ago, a philosophy prof mentioned it to me and I had to go buy a copy and re-read it...now with a much different perspective.

Have you read it? (I don't want to bore or spoil either way)
Because it strikes me that for Time Lords, perhaps - like the people on Winter - gender isn't necessarily fixed for life, especially when you're talking about multiple regenerations. Unlike the Winter planet inhabitants, maybe Time Lords can and DO choose?

I love your writing, and love this idea! May I vote for the Lucy as Master for Gallifrey '09?
