I'm re-watching Robots of Death at the moment. Whilst I really, really want to make a Voc Robot costume, it's going to be a long time before I have the dosh to afford the hardware - that mask requires fiber-glass molding capability for a start....

However, I wouldn't mind having a go at Toos' rig. [livejournal.com profile] honorarydoctor, would that be be an apt accompaniment if you got your V-robot costume together?

I love me some Robots of Death. That's one of my favorite Tom Baker adventures.

Holy crap, Pamela Salem is one of the hottest guest stars ever on Who. I do love Louise Jameson, but the mind boggles (and the hormones churn) at the thought of Salem in those leather outfits if she'd actually got the Leela gig.

Pamela Salem was traffic stoppingly pretty. Not only in Robots but also in Remembrance of the Daleks and of course as Miss MoneyPenny in never Say Never Again. I wish she'd have otten ore high profile work but she's lovely in that Robots outfit.

Absolutelly the toos outfit would be an apt accompaniment to the Voc costume! And I agree the original mask was probably fiberglass. Although one of the guys I talked to about doing a repro of it suggested plastic as it will be easier on the wearer and it was easier for him to sculpt with. But I'm open. I want to get going on this but finding that Captain marvel Cape has been a bit of a kick in the pants with me to finally take a Who pause and get that freakin' Shazam costume done already as it's been on my brain for like 4 years...

Well, you know my budgetary situation, so you know I'm not in any rush. Besides, it'll take me a while to figure out how to do Toos' headpiece. I think it might make my life easier if I just built the wig into it, rather than figuring out how to staple a wig to my skull and keeping the whole shebang stable...

We'll certainly keep in touch about this. I figure my first steps are to tackle the mask and then getting the base fabric worked out on the quilting and the color...

Heh, and I still like the idea of doing a Dum Voc, meself, so don't think I'm giving up on that - although I think you'll have WAY more success tackling the mask question than I ever would!
