Hm...

Y'know what? I'll take six days of Barrowman-themed earworm (yeah, yeah, it's self-inflicted. So what?) if that's what it takes to bring on grinning-stupidly-all-morning good dreams about David Tennant.

*grins stupidly*

Although, I must admit, Barrowman's album Swings Cole Porter has grown on me. At first, I only liked a couple of tracks - "Just One of Those Things" and "Don't Fence Me In" - but songs like "Ca C'est L'Amour" and "What Is This Thing Called Love" have increased appeal upon further listening. My husband's response? Well, duh, it's Cole Porter. He has a point...

I peeked at someone's YouTube post of Barrowman on Royal Variety and, whilst he himself put in a solid performance, I can see why critics are saying the genre's long dead, if the exceedingly lackluster energy put out by most (not all) of the participants in the finale/curtain call is anything to go by. Yes, I know that live performances really take it out of a person, but dammit, if you can't find some energy for the finale, you're pretty much screwed.

PS. Oh, thank you very bloody much, [livejournal.com profile] moviegrrl! I've now got the image of a latex-clad JB in my head. There goes any chance I had of getting work done today. *wibble*
