*rolls up sleeves*

This is for the fans of the "Toppy!Ianto" series. Both of them.

No, it's not a fic, not yet, at least.

I've got an idea for getting the fics out of the doldrums. It does, however, involve picking the continuity up by its ears and dropping it firmly into post The Last Time Lord territory. And Jack being a bit, er...crazy. But only a bit.

It would also be a bit darker, probably quite angsty and, honestly, perhaps not quite as much fun. I'm just warnin' ya. I've got ideas. Whether or not I manage to write them down, on the other hand.

Regardless, I'll crank out some sort of ending to the currently-unfinished bit, and see if I can't shoehorn in an indication that there's going to be a sizable segue. Or something. Besides, the vignette is far too cute to leave under wraps...

The meeting at my office that unlocked this particular plotbunny also set loose about three others for The Original Shameless Jack/Lucy/Saxon Fic of Dooooom, so I really need to get cracking on having my shame removed (and my pervy writing skills upgraded) before the thing eats my brain, entirely. It's reached the point of so many ideas, I'm getting muddled so I'll have to sort it out quite soon.

As much as I love your Toppy!Ianto series, this -

makes me squee even more. Dark and angsty works for these two, and there's not enough of it.

And of course, anything with Jack and the Master in the same fic is made of win. Now if you threw Ianto into the mix....

The tricks lies, I think, in not crossing the line into emo-ridden melodrama. I believe that I can avoid that particular minefield, but I'm not entirely sure that I can pull off what I've got in mind. Mad outlining is to commence, once I've got the Lucy/Jack fic out of my system...

Naturally! If I manage to write the Super Shameless Fic of Dooooom, it will, of course, be riddled with Jack/Master goodness. :)

Yep. There's a lot of emo-ridden melodrama, especially where Ianto is concerned, and I hate it when writers have him come across as fragile and weak, because he isn't. If you need someone to bounce ideas off, let me know.

You and [livejournal.com profile] crabby_lioness will be the first to know - although I don't want to spoil the ideas for you, given that you're 2/3 of the intended audience! :)

(I just started outlining and, oh dear god, the messed-up sh*t that's falling out onto the screen...)

Hey, there's nothing wrong with messed up! Well, there is but you know what I mean! Sounds promising ;-)
And hey, there's a lot more people out there who'll love reading it!

Very true, but you do a good job of remembering that they are grown men and not teenage girls. If I can help any, let me know.

Aw, thank you! :)

Speaking of which, I did have an idea for later in the series. It's probably too inept to use and you probably won't like it, but would you mind if I sent it to you in an email?

[identity profile] fangrrl-squees.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. Although if you don't mind waiting, er, a week or so, you can take a look at the 'setup' I have in mind (I figured out the bones for it on the train-ride home, short and sweet to kick things off) and then you can decide if you want to share it?

[identity profile] crabby-lioness.livejournal.com 2007-08-02 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
No problem. It's sort of amorphous on the time-scale just "later than now", so it's pretty flexible. Let me know when you're ready.

Oh. You'll know, alright.

*chortles wickedly*
