*rolls up sleeves*

This is for the fans of the "Toppy!Ianto" series. Both of them.
No, it's not a fic, not yet, at least.
I've got an idea for getting the fics out of the doldrums. It does, however, involve picking the continuity up by its ears and dropping it firmly into post The Last Time Lord territory. And Jack being a bit, er...crazy. But only a bit.
It would also be a bit darker, probably quite angsty and, honestly, perhaps not quite as much fun. I'm just warnin' ya. I've got ideas. Whether or not I manage to write them down, on the other hand.
Regardless, I'll crank out some sort of ending to the currently-unfinished bit, and see if I can't shoehorn in an indication that there's going to be a sizable segue. Or something. Besides, the vignette is far too cute to leave under wraps...
The meeting at my office that unlocked this particular plotbunny also set loose about three others for The Original Shameless Jack/Lucy/Saxon Fic of Dooooom, so I really need to get cracking on having my shame removed (and my pervy writing skills upgraded) before the thing eats my brain, entirely. It's reached the point of so many ideas, I'm getting muddled so I'll have to sort it out quite soon.

makes me squee even more. Dark and angsty works for these two, and there's not enough of it.
And of course, anything with Jack and the Master in the same fic is made of win. Now if you threw Ianto into the mix....

Date: 2007-08-01 08:46 pm (UTC)The tricks lies, I think, in not crossing the line into emo-ridden melodrama. I believe that I can avoid that particular minefield, but I'm not entirely sure that I can pull off what I've got in mind. Mad outlining is to commence, once I've got the Lucy/Jack fic out of my system...

Naturally! If I manage to write the Super Shameless Fic of Dooooom, it will, of course, be riddled with Jack/Master goodness. :)

Date: 2007-08-02 12:01 am (UTC)Speaking of which, I did have an idea for later in the series. It's probably too inept to use and you probably won't like it, but would you mind if I sent it to you in an email?

Date: 2007-08-01 08:38 pm (UTC)And I don't see how Jack wouldn't be a bit, er crazy is a pretty good word, after the Valient. He goes into it with the most altruistic of motives, to sacrifice himself to save the Doctor and Martha's family from torture at the Master's hands by presenting a more tempting victim. He suffers nobly. He comes out a hero with the answers he was looking for. He's more at peace with himself and the Doctor. I can buy all that, I really can. But please don't try to tell me it didn't leave him with issues that he needs to work past before he can be completely happy!Jack.

Date: 2007-08-02 03:21 am (UTC)I think I've got it all sorted. I figured out the bare bones of the 'setup' story, so I might bash that out tomorrow, if work is as quiet as I think it's going to be. :)
