Weeeeell, 30 seconds in and Harriet is irritating as all get out. It's her voice - the actress is trying a bit too hard for RP, in my entirely scruffy opinion...
And, oh yeah, shoot the photographer. I'm really tired of the short, sudden zooms.
Oh gods, Tosh is adorable with that wide-eyed expression...
Jack's expression as he's watching Tosh and Tommy leave, and says "Nobody's perfect." is, erm, priceless.
Tiny little prop note: I much prefer the secret-service style communication rig, over the damfool hunks of tech hanging off peoples' faces. Yep, much more.
Ahh, the flickering florescent tube. Where would suspense set-ups be without you?
I like how the Torchwood team seem increasingly like intruders on the scene, to the point at which the nurse sees Gwen. That was pretty deftly done.
(Tommy & Tosh smooch, oh so politely) Apologies to those of you all over my zip code who just heard me yelling "No, no, no!" at the screen whilst Tosh agreed to take himself back to her place... Poor gal has the lousiest luck - or is it just bad taste? Because it's very, very clear that this isn't going to end well.
What the hell is this? Empathic Owen? I mean, 'tis an improvement and I approve of it, and all, but aw man... bad timing (given what we all know is coming in just an episode or two...)
OOH! Someone make me that steampunky rift manipulator? Or at least show me some good production drawings? *proplust*
Aww, dear, sweet Tosh. A warrior's farewelll, forsooth.
(this eps is, in many ways, deeply silly. That isn't stopping my not-so-inner romantic from enjoying the mushy bits, tho')
Yay! Jack/Ianto-smooches! *ahem* Gareth David Lloyd seems far more comfortable, this time around - no cheating the smooch somewhere below his cheekbone... (slashy fangrrl is happy)
Well... that ended about as predictably as expected - and, er can we skip any further blood-based solutions, pls?
Poor Tommy - and don't think that choice of character name didn't strike me as Mad Unsubtle Scriptwriting 101, because it did.
Overall, it was alright. A bit simplistic in plot, but I enjoyed it for what we saw of the characters.
Postscript: More Burn Gorman in inadequately thick shirts, pls.
