BFA - The Gathering

To get away from the Torchwood-smut for one damn second (y'all can't see the private entry I've got cued up for posting after beta, trust me, this is only an interlude), I finished listening to the BFA The Gathering, earlier today.
Wow! Brilliant! I don't know if I was just predisposed to liking it after reading some positive reviews or what, but this one really clicked for me. A solid cast putting out a great performance - more chemistry between the characters than I've heard in a lot of BFAs - with a story that wasn't too silly (let's be honest, most of them are a bit silly) and, for once, the music didn't drive me straight up the wall. Calloo! Callay! Let us burble in our joy!
Who wrote this one? What else have they done? *Wikis* Joseph Lidster. I see he did the companion story The Reaping - which is going on my list, even if Nicola Bryant's accent still makes me a bit bugnuts. Let's see what else. Terror Firma - heard it and generally liked it, although I felt like they pulled one big tease with C'rizz, just when things were getting interesting. Master - haven't heard it, haven't heard of it. I'll have to find some reviews...
That final conversation between Tegan and the Doctor? Loved it. Davison and Fielding were pretty damn solid throughout, in fact. I rather hope this won't be the only story with them, but all signs point to that being the case. Sigh. Still, at least I've still got a few Fifth Doctor/Nyssa ones to go through, and I'm told that some of them are remarkably decent. I have an unrelenting soft spot for the Fifth Doctor, warts and all. ;)
So, yeah, without getting spoileriffic, The Gathering goes on my top five list of Fave BFAs. See, it's not all Eighth Doctor!
