I can't believe this hadn't occurred to me before now.

Life On Mars / Doctor Who crossover. By which I mean LoM in place and early 1970s Doctor Who, if possible. Granted, given the vagaries of time travel, it could be any Doctor but let's have fun, shall we? Mad-ass ideas involving Ashes to Ashes and the Fifth Doctor are not beyond the pale, depending on the script (ie, back off, you sweet lil pervs you)

Guidelines:

No overt slash

Nothing that can't be managed on a minimal budget with Mr. Photoshop and Mr. Aftereffects.

The fewer physical locations, the better.

Tongue-in-cheek humor mandatory.

You write it, I interpret it. If you have a storyboard, that's grand, but I'm still directing. We'll figure out the rest, later, should you have a script I want to tackle.

Shooting: June/July/August '09 (ie, the slow season at my office).

Of course, Sam makes jokes about going to see Doctor Who in the show. So having the Doctor turn up would be a serious Test Card Girl moment...

How many cast members / minutes are you thinking about?

(Dear God, woman, you're giving me plotbunnies! And they tickle!)

Hee! Plotbunnies!

Very short, like, five minutes at the MOST, I think...

uuuuuhm.... well to be honest I always wanted to do a Sandman fanfilm, and was willing to be in front of the camera if need be, but it fell through. I haven't really thought about it since then (except for [livejournal.com profile] kiralikescake's and my joking around with The Phantom of the TARDIS)

And hearing fic ideas is why I keep drinking.

Remember, since it's in the 70s, we have to use an old Doctor, and everyone has to run around gravel quarries.

You could play this either Sam Tyler has a case which brings him to the BBC while they are making a Pertwee Episode... probably Carnival of monsters or something like that and Pertwee himself helps solve the case. (same thing for Ashes to Ashes really) but it's obviously more fun to take both universes as fiction... and have the Doctor show up to help Sam on a crime related to something more - maybe a Master scheme, definately have to have The Brig and UNIT override the police authroity for some headbutting scenes... and ultimately tie it into Sam's condition (not meaning to slight the UK TV ending BUT) that perhpas he's not in his mind, in the 70's or on Earth at all... maybe he's been stuck in a cheap 70's crime thriller novel in the Land of Fiction? brainstorming aloud...
