Time Agency fanfic of doom has reached the highly annoying stage of 'ticking along nicely, while tearing itself apart'.

I really like the premise, and the characters and some of the plots I've jotted, but there's some gaping bloody great things wrong with it and I don't know if I'm smart enough to fix them.

Still, as mentioned before, I've got a great setup for a tabletop RPG, if nothing else - but I'd rather not settle for that.

Brain is fizzing on other ideas, but they're even more frivolous and wasteful of time. To hell with them.

I finished listening to Orbis - quite silly, but also fairly amusing. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the gender-transitioning sentient clams featured in the story. Humorous, yes, but vaguely offensive, too - or am I being oversensitive? The not-at-all subtle PMT joke was definitely annoying, though.

I see the eighth Doctor is having memory issues again. It's amazing he's got any mind left after all he's been through. I wonder if the amnesia/not-remembering-Lucie is really going to matter across the series, or if it's a we'll ignore it until we've run out of ideas sort of plot point.

Anyone out there listened to the rest of the series? Is it worth buying? $9/eps to download is a bargain, but money being what it is, I'm twitchy about making a purchase if it's going to, erm, suck.

I still think Lucie rocks, though. Just sayin'.

Speaking of twitchy, yes, I know that Torchwood's "third series" looms and, yes, I'm annoyed about BBCA playing silly buggers with the airing dates. But, honestly? I haven't finished watching S2, yet...

It started out as "I'll save those eps for an afternoon when I want a treat" and then became "I don't know if I really want to end this series yet, it's been such good fun" and finally "Oh, yeah. I'll get around to that one of these days..."

It's odd. I really liked Torchwood's second season and think it's an order of magnitude better than the previous one but... I can't seem to find the motivation to finish the bloody thing. Given how all my Torchwood fan friends have told me "OMG! You'll love the story!" (because of the historical costuming, I s'pose) my reluctance rather baffles me.

Same with me. I enjoyed the first few episodes of TW S2 and thought they were light years better than the abominable S1, but got about mid-season and just... meh. Didn't really care that hard to continue. Will get around to them one day, but may end up watching the miniseries (just because it's self-contained, though it looks like shite) before being bovvered to finish S2.

*nod* I just feel vaguely ashamed for not caring enough when the show's clearly gotten *better*...

(aside: I managed to remain unspoiled about a certain character's death at the end of S2 clear until they showed it in a retrospective at SD ComicCon. I later heard that I was probably the ONLY person in a theater of a couple of thousand who didn't know but STILL, way to blow a spoiler, BBCA!)

S3 looks very, very silly indeed. And that's okay, I like silly. We all need a little silliness in our lives.

But between me, thee and the intertubes, I'll be surprised if they make another series after this one...

I don't mind silly, but I've grown very, very, very weary of RTD's particular brand of "silliness." If I never watch another show he's written again in my lifetime, I'll feel the better for it.

At this point, I'm willing to keep up with anything he does that ISN'T for Doctor Who.

After all, I really liked Queer As Folk and Casanova...

I enjoy "Torchwood," but I also can't be arsed to catch up on it. I've seen most of 2nd season (quite enjoyable, much better written than season 1), but haven't gotten around to eps 11 and 12 yet. It's one of those shows where if I catch it, great, if not, no big loss. (Kinda like how I feel about "Monk.")

I guess I'm worried that the League of Squeeing Fangirls is going to take away my membership card

Bah! One can't Squee at Everything. Wastes too much time (and forces you to know way too much about media texts that don't actually interest you)!
