One happy fangirl. And I even found my second-gen DWFCA Dynamic Color Changing Badge! (as they called it). I wish I'd never tossed out the first-gen one, as I hear that's worth some serious money to collectors, for some reason...

Alex didn't understand why I had a serious gigglefit at one point. Just as I was thinking of the Mark Gatiss-hosted Radio 4 bit on the Target novelizations and his mentioning to Terrance Dicks his love of the chapter-header It was a graveyard of spaceships - what did I happen to pick up? The Target PB of The Brain of Morbius, of course! Take a look at the first page, I dare you... V. gigglesome.

DW Books For Trade

Meanwhile, I have a few dupe EDAs and Target PBs that I would like to offer up for trade before they go to Goodwill. Click on the cut-tag to see what I have, and what I'm looking for. I acknowledge that some of what I'm looking for is pretty freakin' rare and will happily haggle with you re: six-of-mine-to-one-of-yours or whatever...

The List

All books are in good/very good condition unless noted otherwise. They have all been read at least once, so nothing is mint or even near-mint. Unlike many e-bay sellers, I know what mint means and it doesn't mean "But I only read it once!". If you're really mad to know, I can take a picture of it and share it.

What I Have

Target PB - Castrovalva - Chris Bidmead
Target PB - Mawdryn Undead - Peter Grimwade
Target PB - Vengeance on Varos - Philip Martin

The Handbook - The Seventh Doctor
The Handbook - The Fifth Doctor (rather well-read, visible wear to spine and the cover's been 'bumped')

EDA - The Tomorrow Windows - Jonathon Morris
EDA - The Slow Empire - Dave Stone
EDA - Sometime Never... Justin Richards
EDA - Cold Heart - Trevor Baxendale
EDA - Escape Velocity - Colin Brake
EDA - Legacy of the Daleks - John Peel
EDA - The Scarlet Empress - Paul Magrs
EDA - Camera Obscura - Lloyd Rose
EDA - Earthworld - Jacqueline Rayner
EDA - Reckless Engineering - Nick Walters
EDA - The Taking of Planet 5 - Simon Boucher-Jones & Mark Clapham
EDA - Halflife - Paul Michalowski

What I'm Looking For
(Titles only, I have to retype this from a long-ago printout and I can't be arsed to include authors)

I don't think so, but I'll take a look at 'em. IIRC, the NAs were generally Master-free...

You should see the rest of the living room!

With help from friends, we unpacked and sorted approximately a thousand books, yesterday. There's, erm, another 400 or so still in boxes....

(or are you referring to my 'want' list? ;))

Both! I knew there were a lot of Doctor Who books... but that's a LOT of books!

Heh. Over the years, a LOT of DW books have been published. I wish I still had my Target PBs from when I was a we'en but they didn't make the move to the US.

I've got all the EDAs and I'd like to mostly-complete the NA collection (some of them, I'm NEVER going to get) but I'm not feeling any particular urge to collect MAs (another 80 or so titles...)

I don't even bother collecting the *new* DW books. I don't like the mini-hardback format (too expensive and there's no very good reason for the presentation, and I figure I'll start finding them at used book stores for half the price, soon enough...)

Obsessive? Not much, I swear!

Well, I have a few of the New Who books that I’ll eventually sell off or get rid of (just because they take up a lot of space in my teeny room), so if I do, I’LL LOOK YOU UP FIRST.

I can give you:

Oh No It Isn't
Dragon's Wrath
Beyond the Sun
Ship of Fools
Doen
Deadfall
Ghost Devices
Mean Streets
Tempest
Beige Planet Mars

I'll probably never read them

If you're not going to read them, then I'd love to take 'em off your hands! Because I certainly WILL read them. Possibly several times.

BTW, I've found another kimono book for you to borrow - this one is just a slender, but pretty, volume showing some nicer examples of archtypical designs. :)

For my roommate

[livejournal.com profile] foxmoor is interested in several: Tomorrow Windows, Slow Empire, Sometime Never, Escape Velocity, Camera Obscura, Earthworld, Reckless Engineering, Taking of Planets, Halflife and Vengeance of Varos.

I think you already have him email, otherwise you can contact him on his LJ?

Dude, you have 'The Dying Days?'
Put that shit up on eBay, it's super rare!!

From: [identity profile] britgeekgrrl.livejournal.com
Well, yes, he could do that if he wanted to. Fair point. :)

(my current list says it goes for $60+ from reputable sellers)

EDIT: Oh, sorry, I thought you were replying to [livejournal.com profile] regfoghorn - then I reviewed the thread. D'oh!

I don't have The Dying Days, myself - it's one of the ones I'm looking for.

I'd prefer to trade rather than sell, and I'm in email negotiations with someone to trade a fair number of them. I'll make an update post later tonight with what's still available and if I'm willing to sell any of it (I said I'd give it 48 hours to find trades...)

If you can pay with a USD or a Euro money order, then I've no problem selling overseas. Secure shipping won't be too cheap, though. :(

Haven't got any NAs to trade, but if you decide you want any of the newer books, I have extra copies of Shining Darkness by Mark Michalowski and Torchwood: Trace Memory by David Llwellyn. I already have Mawdryn Undead, but would be interested in any of the others.

Oh, and if you were just looking to read them, the BBC website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/ebooks/) has e-books of Lungbarrow, Empire of Glass, Sands of Time, & Scales of Injustice with author commentary.
