Inspired by an entry by another fan, who's LJ name I've forgotten (sorry!)

For the record, I think Jack and Ianto have been keeping company since shortly after Day One. The proof is scanty at best, but consists of:

- Ianto quit calling Jack sir rather early on.
- The way Jack's hand brushed down Ianto's neck and across his chest during that - ahem - "CPR" moment in Cyberwoman. Actors don't do much by accident, luvs. Granted, it might have been Jack copping a free feel, but it's not like he needs to resort to such behavior, is it?
- Assorted smoldering looks by Ianto made in Jack's direction. Most recently in Countrycide.

There.

If the signs are being read aright, there might be some clarification on the whole are they/aren't they with the upcoming eps...

I'm personally of the opinion that they've been going at it since before the series opener and that the sir bit was Ianto trying to cover it up. Except for in the harassment line, there I think he was teasing Jack back.

I was kinda wondering if the hand thing during the kiss because the guy playing Ianto was nervous and John was trying to help him just get through it. One never knows, and no one seems to be asking John about it on the billion talk shows he's been on recently. *shakes head* Silly talk show people.

You know what I want for Xmas?

A two hour interview with Barrowman talking about the craft of acting in general, and his take on Jack in particular and nothing else. Spoilers optional.

I would cheerfully pay good money for such an interview, I would because damn it would clear up a lot of questions about certain moments in the show, and yeah, little things like was he being supremely subtle at Moment X, or just faking his way through it and we provided the context.

I caught that teasing vibe with the harassment line, too, but I've lost count of the number of times I've seen het people almost-flirt with the same gender (for whatever reason, ranging from sheer sillyfun to no-really-I'm-not-homophobic, see!) to take it as a firm sign that they were playing footsie at that point...

Maybe if we wrote Santa a really nice letter.

Or Barrowman's agent... ;)

If only things worked that way.

Oh, I dunno, it's worth a try. Find me an actor who doesn't like talking in excruciating detail about their craft. Just most of 'em don't do it publicly unless invited to "Inside the Actor's Studio" or something - although that show seems to have drifted far from its original intent.

True, but getting them in a situation to do so is difficult. And I used to love "Inside the Actor's Studio." *sigh* So disappointing now.
