Costume Squee!
Feb. 22nd, 2007 08:43 amI just posted the below on my regular journal, but I think I have some Bay Area folks reading this that aren't on my F-List, so...
Details are on
iamradar's journal, but in case you're not on her F-List, the summary is as follows.
What: road trip from SF Bay Area to the current FIDM exhibit (art of motion picture costuming)
When: March 17th & 18th. Plan is to leave the Bay Area really early - like 5AM - on the Saturday and leave LA around lunchtime Sunday, as neither Radar nor I can take any more time off from work.
Why: It's the 15th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibition. Squee!
The exhibit features costumes from: Memoirs of a Geisha, Marie Antoinette, Apocalypto, The Curse of the Golden Flower, The Holiday, Monster House, The Painted Veil, Perfume, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, For Your Consideration, The Fountain, Nanny McPhee, The Queen, Bobby, PotC 2, Flags of Our Fathers, The Good German, Infamous, Letters from Iwo Jim, Eragon, Superman Returns, Ultraviolet, V for Vendetta, Dreamgirls and Idlewild.
Cost will be variable, depending on how many people we can pack into Radar's minivan. It'll range from, er, $50 - $85/person, and that's assuming five of us split a single hotel room, and includes gas for the Squeemobile.
I don't know where we'll be staying. Organizing this is Radar's baliwack. I'm not going to help. Nope. Not at all. *fidgets*
Drop a line at Radar's journal if you'd like to join in. The dates are, alas, set in stone.
