I think my subconcious had the theme for Descendant figured out a while ago, elsewise why hang that working title on it?

Despite my initial intention to write something pretty dam' fluffy - and the resilient Mary-Sue-ness of some characters reinforcing that - the outline has been taking a turn into dark and I think I should let it. Given what happens on Gauda Prime, a light-hearted laughing on the bridge as the credits roll type encounter is neither plausible nor appropriate.

Avon's just about hit bottom, and dragged Vila with him. Kara's about to get bitchslapped with the Big Wet Fish of Ethics1 and Andriss, well, Andriss has a general, ongonig worry about, y'know, going completely mad.

So let's drag all these little darlings down almost to the very bottom of their personal pits of despair and make 'em pull each other up again. If I don't have a reasonable coherent ensemble by the end of that, then there's just no hope for me.

PS. Soolin and Tarrant are alive.

PPS. Saving Dayna would take some jiggery-pokery that has not yet been ruled out.

PPPS. Orac is a pile of melted plastic, imho. Tell me Avon didn't have a deadman switched rigged into that little beast's innards. 48 hours after the safeword fails to be said *boom*.

1 - I have a strange and varied pantheon of metaphors in my head, I acknowledge that - and yet I have no idea where the Big Wet Fish of Ethics came from..

I agree totally on Orac ... Avon is that paranoid.
