Be Careful What You Wish For...
Apr. 10th, 2007 03:10 pmRight then, where to begin?
Shortly after my whine earlier today about Jack not being terribly articulate whilst he's simultaneously grumbling about the lack of luv, toppy!Ianto wandered back on to the scene. He's got some ideas, ranging from merely implausible to downright chilling (it's always the quiet ones) and whereas some of them are quite - ahem - distracting, I simply don't think I could do them justice. I'm just not a good enough writer. However, that doesn't stop me wishing like hell I could a) do justice to said mental noodlings b) get 'em into rpg!Jack's continuity because, damn, it's been quiet over there, lately.
I was rummaging through my pen-and-ink journal over lunch, trying to get some thoughts going re: possible RP with a person who writes a rather good Owen, (more on that in another entry, perhaps, for Ideas Are Brewing), and that, of course, woke up a whole bunch of snoozing plotbunnies. Mostly the pervy ones because it's spring and my hormones are surging. Y'all know how it is.
Ianto's pissed off because Jack is still, by and large, 'playing along' with the whole subbie thing and, if naught else, that pisses off Ianto's not-so-inner subbie (and that's a fic that's been waiting for months to go online, btw) and it, y'know, implies a cheapening of that aspect of him. So, Ianto wants to teach Jack about the honest-to-goodness1 fun that is submission. How does a person do that? By rewarding good service, of course. Which leads me right to What sort of service (so to speak) does Ianto really want from Jack? and ow, who put that brick wall there?
Dark-and-unpleasant Ianto has a few ideas, because he hasn't quite forgiven Jack for what happened to Lisa. I'll cheerfully lift what I can from that source, but that has to be done very carefully, as whereas half the fun of fictional BDSM is that one doesn't have to be quite as careful about Safe Play as one does in real life, one is also aware that impressionable folk may stumble across this and if there's one area where I don't want to be a bad influence, it's this. Pushing/breaking boundaries is daaaangerous territory to be treading, never mind some of the other ideas that dark-and-unpleasant Ianto has piped up with - let's just say that his interest in rape fantasy is about the nicest of them.
Back to the service thing... Hm. Hmm... Alas, my own rather limited experience with this dynamic has me rather scritching my head for good ideas. Oh, I have a bunch of ideas, but whether or not they're plausible, manageable and generally good is another matter entirely.
(Although this does remind me that I haven't written the Jack-as-furniture bit yet, and I really should. I think that's a good-and-plausible one. I just don't know where it's going, beyond a rather delicious setup. One doesn't need much more than that setup, granted, but there must be something.)
You know what this means, right? I'll just have to go read pron online in the hopes of finding ideas. Oh dearie, dearie me, what a chore... Feel free to leave recs. ;)

But he's also smart enough to realize that telling Owen not to do something is a surefire way to get him to dig in his heels and do it, regardless. I suppose I could take the boring way out and have Jack call Andrea's boss... She respects him (ie: is scared witless). But where's the fun in a resolution like that? :)

Date: 2007-04-11 05:28 pm (UTC)And the plot *already* (20 minutes in) seems to be better than half of the eps from the first season. I forget, is Anghelides writing anything for season 2?
(incidentally, I think Anghelides is a luv and am probably biased in his favor, so maybe the story really stinks. Who knows? :))
