OMG, made of awesome. I might actually forgive RTD for some of his past efforts. Forgive me, fandom, but sometimes Uncle Rusty drives me straight up the wall...
Favorite bits:
- "You abandoned me!"
- The watch. Damn, I love the design of that thing. I wish I could replicate it - the MPWP would enter a new phase...
- "I've got a sports car, he's got a space hopper." "Okay, so I bounce!" (must...resist...obvious...punchline...)
- Finally knowing why Jack kept the hand - although part of me still buys into the ever-popular pervy hypothesis.
- The scenery stuck in Jacobi's teeth. Even when he's overdoing it, he's still the best.
- The pure fanwank moment of Jack saying fantastic!
- Martha's face as she's listening to that conversation between The Doctor and Jack.
- The Doctor's face as the TARDIS dematerialized at the end.
How many times did the Doctor say I'm sorry? It's definitely been his refrain, of late. If one were to (rather stretch) the faith theme/metaphor thingy, is the Doctor tackling penance? Nah, I don't think so. I think he's just feeling more than he wants to - a guy can only isolate himself so much, for so long - and some of it's definitely hurting. See, I don't have the impression that the Doctor is apologizing to who he's apparently apologizing to, but I need to think about that for a while, because it only just occurred to me and I'm halfway down a bottle of wine...
rpg!Jack is currently doing his best impersonation of a guy suddenly woken up after falling asleep at his desk, which has me heaving a huge sigh of relief. If I can just keep the Ten/Jack slash to a minimum in his journal, I'll be happy. That's not to say I'm not thinking about it - oh god, am I ever - but there are far better ficcers than myself happily working on that topic. There's no need for me to retread that ground.
In other news, a friend has found blue-pinstriped brown fabric at JoAnn's. Bless her heart, she called me and
iamradar if we wanted any. Sight unseen, I've bought two yards, although I still plan to do the mad silkscreening with the brown rayon I've got coming in the mail (bought on Friday, ironically enough). I think that, between the three of us, we got the bolt. Thank god it was on clearance. If the stuff turns out to be a good match, I'll post about it

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some toe-curlingly scrummy plotbunnies I need to jot down...

Date: 2007-06-18 09:53 am (UTC)I noticed how much he was trembling. Shaking. My goodness it was so gorgeous. Such intensity! DT is an amazing actor and that scene was simply brilliant.

He has! I find that very interesting. It's not like the characterization I expect from Ten as established in Season 2. I have no idea if it will end up being significant in the last two episodes of this season, but it's interesting. I wonder how his new-found frequent expression of his feelings will affect Season 4.
