Oh dear. I think I just found my alien alter ego in a Doctor Who book.

I know, I know. Big surprise, right?

I'm reading the NA Happy Endings (non-spoilery blurb: Bernie Summerfield's wedding. Hilarity ensues) and I encountered the following on page 131:

Sgloomi Po, the shape-changing blob, was still bouncing around the green, offering a multi-eyed head to a crowd of cheering children to rub and a big seat with handles for them to ride on. "Is happy! Is jolly jam-and-cream time! Is maximum English muffin! Oh yes!"

"Sgloomi," Li Shao muttered. "Why are you talking like that? Don't get turned into a puppy or something, will you?"

The being looked hurt. It had become a round and rubbery spacehopper, crawling with children. "I was merely attempting to be charming and charismatic, Nathan. Intellect tends to alienate, as I thought you had yourself discovered."

No, really, trust me on this. ;)

PS - am also loving the line Probably the most dangerous question since 'Excuse me, Mr. Dalek, but what does that stick do?'
