Chicago, Here I Come.

When both one's hubby and one's father's wife (I really need a better nickname for her than that, because she's not my stepmother) are saying "Get on the goddamn plane!" then I guess one should get on the goddamn plane.

So, yes, I am going to Chicago TARDIS next week.

I might be a wee bit wonky on Friday, depending on how much sleep I get on the red-eye and/or if I can cram in a couple of hours at the hotel before the programming gets underway.

I'm waiting to hear from the second of my two potential roomies re: splitting some space. I'm going to call the hotel and, if there are any rooms left in the con-block, I'm going to book one, just in case the rooming situation doesn't pan out and/or the con-block closes before the con itself occurs - this can happen, I'm told. I'd prefer to book and then cancel, than run the risk of having to sleep in the lobby.

Edited 11/16 - The roomie situation is sorted, although I might be carrying the entire cost of Sunday night. Whatever, it's still cheaper to stay over rather than to fly home on Sunday.

Right now, I'm going to chase down the programming person and see if they still need that mod for the cosplay panel. And then I've got to figure out if I can do the entire weekend with one carry on bag¹. I know what the baggage apes are like on holiday weekends, I'd rather NOT let them vent their spleen on my things.

¹ - No, I don't think I'll manage it, either.But I'm going to try. Maybe if I wore the Femmy 10 corset under my shirt whilst I'm traveling. No, wait, that'll play merry hell with airport security...

That is so great you get to go. I hope you have fun..Take pictures. And you can cram more into a bag if you roll your clothes instead of folding. And can save space if you buy some things there like shampoo and that sort of thing. My aunt lives in Elgin right outside of Chicago and she said it's getting to be really cold. I am not sure where you are but might want to keep that in mind, I always stink at going from one climate to another.

*nod* I don't mind if I end up having to carry a room by myself on Sunday, it's STILL cheaper than flying back, Sunday night, but company would be grand.

Not sure how much I'm going to pack, as I'd really like to avoid checking my bag, if at all possible, in which case, it'll probably just be Vintage UNIT, Femmy Ten and maaaaybe Avon lady, if I can still fit into the skirt! :-P

It's the shoes that are the killer. Each one of those costumes requires different shoes!

Hey there - I just talked to CA and she's actually thrilled to have you join us Fri and Sat - She's on a budget too. :-)

If you want me to put your name on the room, email me your last name offline and I'll do that when I check in on Thursday. Is that your landline or cell number I called? If you didn't caller ID my cell phone, I can give you that and then you can call me when you get in on Friday or if there are problems checking in and I can come to the front desk and straighten it out. I warned CA you might need a nap when you get there. ;-)

Totally looking forward to whatever costumes you bring - Shoes or not.

I'll call the hotel and book myself a room for Sunday night but, once on site, see if I can't finagle it so that it'll be the same darn room (ie, no need to relocate stuff).
