Right then.
I fully expect to spend the duration of Chicago TARDIS running around and being generally full of squee. That's what I do at conventions.
However, I'm staying at the hotel after the con closes on Sunday evening, because it's cheaper for me to have a room (especially if I can find a last-minute roomie for Sunday night only, hint, hint!) than to fly back that day.
I know I've got a few pals out there in the greater Chicago area -
bunyip,
seamstrix and I'm sure there's more of you... So, who fancies a get-together on Sunday night?
I'm pretty much immobile as I don't drive and I've no idea what the pubtrans options are like in that area. Honestly, I'd rather y'all came to me, given that I will have covered 98% of the distance between us, already. Besides, general boozing and chat from, er, 8PM onwards is all I've got in mind.
(And this is assuming that Chicago TARDIS doesn't have something like the Gallifrey One tradition of a booze-up in the hotel bar after closing ceremonies, in which case, you'll know exactly where to find me - and you'll probably meet some very nifty people, too!)
The venue is the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 5440 River Road, Rosemont. It's about 2 miles away from O'Hare airport, if that makes sense to any of you.
If interested, leave a comment here, or drop me a line via johanna.mead(at)gmail.com - once I'm on-site, I'll make a post to this LJ (or an unlocked vox post to
britgeekgrrl, if I can't get a decent 'net connection) - with further details.
Meanwhile, I'd somehow failed to notice that Nicholas Briggs is going to be at the con. I was all miffed that he wasn't at the last Gallifrey, so the cake has been iced!
