Poo. Not only are they bootlegs, it looks like the source was VHS. Ugh. Oh well, that's what I get for trying to save a few bucks, I guess.

Inspired by an online-pal's recent marathon viewing, I'm getting re-aquainted with B7 (hence the purchase).

Gambit

(Jotted down whilst watching)

I see Avon's going for the kinky-dentist look, today, whiilst Jenna seems to be wearing someone's curtains. (You know I'm going to mack on the costumes, luvs!) Sky blue spandex spandex bodysuits with mod-sixties flavored plastic accents. My eyes! And I that see hyper-advanced alien races are keen on hooker shoes (silver stiletto boots). And Blake is wandering around in some sort of finely-tailored binbag. I shouldn't be so cruel, I know they did what they could within the confines of their budget and the tastes of the time but, really. Sky blue spandex bodysuits?

Avon: Is that all? What should I do with the other hand?
Blake: I'll let you know.

Oh dear god... How did I miss the slashoriffic fun of this show? Oh yeah, I was about 13 the last time I watched it.

Is it me, or is Avon pushing Blake a lot harder than previously? And no, not in the naughty sense (I promise not to go too boy-crazy during all this squeeing, alright? I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. Besides, it would get monotonous). He's certainly more upfront about the powerstruggle.

Dear DP, quit it with the dramatic dollies-in. Kthxbye.

Oh man, this eps is draaaaaaging in the middle (after the Liberator is captured) although that might be a case of my getting bored by pre-MTV editing.

And there goes the entire stunt budget on one dramatic fall. And a smoke bomb.

<sarcasm>Ahh, I see, since the blue-spandex-gals "aren't really people at all", it's okay to kill 'em with impunity. Thanks for clearing that up, Mr. Supporting Character!</sarcasm>

I've just noticed - no annoying incidental music to hurry the scene along as they're running through the bloody great warehouse advanced space base - well, some at the climax of the scene but, otherwise, blessedly silent. How things change in, er, almost thirty years. (Thirty years? *sob*). Indeed, pacing was a whole other animal back in the day...

....and Orac saves the day in order to preserve his ego. What the hell, it's not the silliest ending in the series, not by a long shot.

I think I need some tea before I go on...

Oh dear, such lovely silliness. This really requires sitting down with friends and giving it the MST3K treatment...
