Hm.

Simon Pegg is on the schedule for San Diego Comic Con.

One wonders, is he actually going to be there, or is it an instance of SDCC's misleading scheduling?

And don't even get me started on the fact that RTD is not going to be there, but you'd never know it by the website. It's just like Barrowman's non-appearance of 2007...

PS - Neat! Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage (aka the Mythbuster dudes) are going to be there. *sigh* on Saturday - the one day I can't use the single-day pass I've been offered. Drat.

Gods, that's confusing. Still, at least you know that (unlike the fly-by-night Jumpcon) SDCC is definitely *happening*.

Adam Savage just gave a talk at the "HOPE" (Hackers on Planet Earth) conference last weekend. What a guy. I'll have to get you the link to a recording of his talk as soon as the HOPE organizers put it up.

Simon Pegg is in the States. He was screening episodes of Spaced last night here in NYC. So it's quite possible for him to skip on over to SDCC!

(mad jealous)

*nod* As Paramount are doing NOTHING at SDCC for the new Trek movie (a decision which defies belief, I might add) it leaves Pegg free to plug "Spaced" (a show I love to little bits). He's appearing with his Spaced co-star, too. I probably won't be able to make their panel, unless someone loans me their badge, but if I'm reading the online program correctly, I should be able to join their autograph line...

Gosh. Not so much as a trailer? I can understand them not wanting to spoil the film too much (even if - as I seem to recall - it's a prequel and therefore we know at least some of how it ends), but no presence at the fan cons? In the heart of Trekkie country? Fail.

AFAIK, all they're doing is offering up the four-up mini-poster.

My hubby, who likes to be clued up on this sort of thing, says there's some sort of snit-fit going on at Paramount about the whole thing. I believe it boils down to someone having their head up their ass...

*nod* It would have been nice to see him, but I'm guessing that tying up Julie Gardner, Stephen Moffat *and* RTD was a bit much for the Beeb. I mean, what if California fell into the ocean during the con? ;)
