A bowtie, huh?
(If you're dying to know, here's a picture - tis posted by the Beeb, so I guess it's official)
Not my usual cup of tea, but I could learn to like it.
In general, though, I'm all for the geeky-professor look. It's a little anachronistic, but not painfully so - it looks like he's wearing some well-washed (black) jeans with the tweedy jacket and they offset each other quite well.
I wonder if those boots are a part of the costume, too? Kinda hope so, to be honest.
Yeah, I think I could learn to like it.
PS. Karen/Amy still looks twelve. A very cute and adorable twelve, but twelve. Yes, I know I'm being bloody-minded. I will also concede that her hair is gorgeous.

Date: 2009-07-20 04:08 pm (UTC)As I mentioned in a comment, above, I've worked it out in my own head that Eleven doesn't quite realize that he's wearing a jacket more suited for someone twice his (apparent) age. It's a pitfall of *looking* 20something at 800+ ;)
FWIW, I'll never hear a word against Peter Davison's costume. Before I gave up the whole Femmy-Doctor idea for good, the next one on my list was an Edwardian strolling ensemble, using that costume as the basis for the design. I loved Five's gear.

Date: 2009-07-20 04:35 pm (UTC)I remember looking at Carnaby Street fashions back when they were all all the rage - and have now dated myself far too conclusively - and Ten definitely rang that bell for me. I will defer to you, however, because I suspect you have a better feel for clothing, with your skills, than I do. Luckily, whatever era Ten's clothing referenced, he wore it well and I enjoyed it greatly.
