The word for today is guh! The post is
spaceygal64's, but I had to share.
The glasses caused some major wibble, I might add.

And now, I must go mop up the drool off my keyboard.

Date: 2007-01-12 07:34 pm (UTC)Still, misery loves company. My be-cysted ovary just gave a twinge in sympathy, if that helps you feel better. (that and I think it was reacting to all the estrogen those pix forcibly dumped into my system)
BTW, I tapped my hubby, the in-house expert on all things Air-Force shaped (uniform-wise, at least) and he told me with nary a doubt that what Jack's wearing is an RAF coat.
American volunteers - ie, chaps who stepped up before Pearl Harbor - would have worn RAF uniforms. So, that makes the search a bit easier at your end, although I fear that the coats will be hunted to extinction.
Apparently the USAF didn't introduce a greatcoat-style garment until after WWII...

Date: 2007-01-12 08:05 pm (UTC)I'm seriously eyeing it for myself, despite the fact I'd need six inches whacked off the bottom (but it would fit me in the chest. Moreover, I've a tall, slender galpal who's seriously thinking about cosplaying Jack.
But the shipping charges. And the exchange rate...
this yahoo hasn't uploaded a pic yet but he might be worth watching...

Date: 2007-01-12 08:30 pm (UTC)I don't know *where* I got this thing for militaria (I just realized I own four pieces that are all pre-1965 issue, from various branches) but it's certainly well-rooted...
