The word for today is guh! The post is [livejournal.com profile] spaceygal64's, but I had to share.

The glasses caused some major wibble, I might add.

Like the icon says... Srsly.

(the link is worksafe, but not dial-up friendly - lots of backstage photos of John Barrowman, post-panto-performance)

And now, I must go mop up the drool off my keyboard.

And apparently gives great fan-service
Ok look, at the moment I'm going between extremes of great discomfort and severe horniness.

That last sentence didn't help

I'm so getting [livejournal.com profile] flonaldinho a USAF greatcoat, I don't think he's gonna mind too much...

Er, sorry about that. I didn't think.

Still, misery loves company. My be-cysted ovary just gave a twinge in sympathy, if that helps you feel better. (that and I think it was reacting to all the estrogen those pix forcibly dumped into my system)

BTW, I tapped my hubby, the in-house expert on all things Air-Force shaped (uniform-wise, at least) and he told me with nary a doubt that what Jack's wearing is an RAF coat.

American volunteers - ie, chaps who stepped up before Pearl Harbor - would have worn RAF uniforms. So, that makes the search a bit easier at your end, although I fear that the coats will be hunted to extinction.

Apparently the USAF didn't introduce a greatcoat-style garment until after WWII...

{{hugs you}}

still think we're genetically linked you know ;)

And why we didn't think to ask him earlier I don't know.
*laughs*
At least it makes it much easier...
*happy dance*

eep!

There are cheaper ones (from the 70s) but they're crappy and if you're going to do it, better do it right...

Y'know, that 70s issue isn't *so* bad - military demands meant that the worst fashion blunders could be avoided (US navy enlisted summer whites notwithstanding, that is). But I'd prefer to handle it/have a no-questions-asked return policy before buying, I must admit.

And that ebay auction... if the guy wants that sort of money, he could post some better pix. MUCH better pix....

Would this be too small?

I'm seriously eyeing it for myself, despite the fact I'd need six inches whacked off the bottom (but it would fit me in the chest. Moreover, I've a tall, slender galpal who's seriously thinking about cosplaying Jack.

But the shipping charges. And the exchange rate...

this yahoo hasn't uploaded a pic yet but he might be worth watching...

Sadly yes :( (although it would be fab on me even if I couldn't button it up!)
I'll keep an eye on the other one though :)

It's a bit small in the chest for me - although it'd be perfect if I lost those 15lbs I need to get rid of...

I don't know *where* I got this thing for militaria (I just realized I own four pieces that are all pre-1965 issue, from various branches) but it's certainly well-rooted...
